Have you ever felt so inspired that you just had to get your hands on anything you could and make something? That’s what I did this one morning. I wanted to create, I wanted to make what I was looking for and to find my style by following what I was already feeling. So I pulled down our ombre-dyed curtains in the living room, gathered books and some muffins for my breakfast and got started.
I had planned to shoot some images of my prints that morning, and then it evolved into some images of my morning nespresso, favorite style and art books, and even my new Melissa shoes. My favorite part of this improvised morning was how the look changed by taking photos through painted glass. I see the world through my own, creative eyes, and looking through glass adds even more details.
Wearing my first pair of Melissa sandals (I think this makes me an official Brazilian girl now!) as I drink my morning nespresso and simultaneously flip through a style book, eat my breakfast, and prep a mini photoshoot. I'm always doing so many things at once. One thing inspires another. Just one glance at a picture sparks other ideas, and I'm rolling on a non-stop momentum of creativity.
So, about these sandals, I'm loving them. They're so comfy and I have been wearing them almost everyday. The thick straps give a more modern look and the pale pink color, which is basically a nude, makes them pair well with many outfits. I am planning on getting another pair (or two) that I spied the day I picked these out. I tried on a pointed mule-like flat called "she" that was just so different, so modern, and yet so classic. They felt a bit too pointy at the moment, but I do keep thinking about them. What do you think?
I discovered the Melissa brand some time after I started traveling to Brazil and could smell whenever someone was wearing them (they have a sweet, fruity scent). I honestly was holding off because of the scent and style options, but over the past year I have been eying the new styles and colors and I chose this pair from their Preview collection for a Christmas "surprise". (Sandals in December - because its summer here!)
Lately, this is how I'm spending my moments. It's intentional yet vital, because it's what makes my heart come alive, each moment leading me a bit closer to myself and the desires I dream of making happen. And this is where it happens, in moments like these, that we do what we love and take moments to pursue it - it's no longer just dreaming, but acting on what we want to happen!
I hope you enjoy this post and that it sparks some life inside of your heart to go after what makes yours fly, too!
