What could be better? An orchestra vibrating melodies up your spine and into your heart as the first model steps out of the stark white entryway; breaking the anticipation with a constant flow of what is pure magic between the styles and the sounds to which they walk.
Following along with #NYFW, I first got a glimpse, or rather, heard, of what would set my heart pounding for days and throughout the next week. Aimee Song, blogger behind Song of Style, shared clips from runway shows on her instagram stories, and once my ears heard the familiar sound of strings, this whole scene from Michael Kors Fall 2017 collection came to life at a whole different level. My heart exploded and I watched it on repeat until it disappeared, which sent me searching for it online to watch it as a whole.
This is art, this passionate show and performance. It's not just one or the other, but the perfect marriage of the two; one giving life to the other.
And this is where I am and long to be, at the performance and right in the middle of it - of life and the passionately creative one.
I'm a musician and I'm a style lover. I'm usually sat in black with my warm-smelling violin amongst the orchestra members, and also simultaneously breathing in the details with my eyes and every bit of my heart. At times I've felt torn, as if I must choose between the stage or the runway, the ringing hum of an orchestra tuning strings or the nonstop beauty that fills a room or simply walks by. But today, at this moment, I don't have to choose. I have both and I am both, and that's what makes me feel it and write it all in the way I do.
One passion provokes another and results in pouring out words and things like this.
That's exactly where I am; gathering the bits and pieces of what flashes by and within, and trying my best to put it all forth.
I might not have been at this Michael Kors show, but one day I will be. I might be on the stage with my instrument in hand, or on the front row scribbling down the secrets the music and season's looks whisper to me. Either way, I'll be doing this, exactly what I've found I love.
